EOCs Go on City
Payroll, Receive Full Benefits
Changes Effective January 2009
The PSC-CUNY Welfare
Fund and the City of New York are pleased to announce that full-time EOC
employees are joining the City payroll. The change will become effective
on a January 2009 payroll date. This action affords EOCs and their
eligible dependents the basic NYC Health Benefits Plan as well as
Welfare Fund Supplemental benefits.
HOW TO ENROLL
Current EOCs must complete:

The
Health Benefits Application for the NYC
Health Benefits Program. It is
available from your benefits office or from the Office of Labor
Relations (OLR) website
here.

The
Welfare Fund Enrollment Form,
available from your benefits office.

Spouse/ domestic partners and eligible dependents must
be included on both applications to receive benefits.

Applications must be submitted to your school’s benefits office by
December 1, 2008, to be eligible for January benefits.
HOW ARE YOUR NEW BENEFITS DIFFERENT?
EOCs and their eligible spouses/ partners
and dependents are now eligible for:

A broader choice of basic health plans, some requiring
premium payment. A summary of available plans is on the OLR website
here. A comparison of plan and rider rates is on the OLR website
here.
(Check with your doctor to make sure your choice of plan is
accepted)

GHI Extended Medical coverage (if applicable)

The Welfare Fund Medco Prescription Drug Plan

Insurance Premium Payroll Deduction Option:
Extended Disability Payments
All persons who are currently billed directly for Extended Disability
insurance will be notified in March 2009 to complete a payroll deduction
card for automatic payroll deduction.
Long Term Care and Catastrophe Major Medical Payments
Upon receipt of your next bill, you should contact the insurance carrier
(Hancock and/or Marsh) to begin automatic payroll deduction.

All EOCs now on CUNY payroll become eligible for
NYSUT benefits

Retired EOCs are eligible for full family coverage

Annual Medicare Part B premium reimbursement from the
City
